Obituary: Dax Asher Covalt
On Monday, May 2, 2022, Dax Asher Covalt came into the arms of the Lord at the age of 22. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2022 at the First Assembly of God Church with Reverend Eric Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the Rock Church Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Dax Asher Covalt was born on April 24, 2000 in Buffalo, Oklahoma to Lonnie Covalt and Tammy Charmasson. He spent his childhood and school years in Mooreland, Oklahoma where he graduated valedictorian of his class. He attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman where he would have graduated on May 14, 2022 as part of the honors college with degrees in Business Management, Communications, and Spanish.
Dax was a loving brother, son, and friend. He loved to sing and worship the Lord and Savior. He had a deep, passionate love for Christ. He enjoyed making others laugh and trying to convince everyone to share his love for the anime Naruto. He loved OU and the community he found there dearly along with his passion for OU football.
Dax was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sue Smith.
He is survived by his mother, Tammy Charmasson, and husband Kevin Charmasson of Woodward, Oklahoma, father, Lonnie Covalt, and wife Karen O’Neill of Gig Harbor, Washington, brother Tucker Covalt of Mustang, Oklahoma, brother, Corby Covalt, and wife Kelsey Covalt of Norman, Oklahoma, stepbrother Brendan Oâ€™Neill of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, grandfather, Chuck Smith of Woodward, Oklahoma, grandfather and grandmother Delbert and Waynona Covalt of Woodward, Oklahoma, and his aunts, uncle, and cousins.
