Dr. Mautra Staley Jones has been named the 11th President of OCCC.

Dr. Mautra Staley Jones has been named the 11th President of Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC).

Dr. Jones comes to the college from Langston University where she served as Vice President for Institutional Advancement & External Affairs, Campus Administrator  and Executive Director, Langston University Foundation.

Jones holds a Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University in Education, a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma.

The 43-year-old Ardmore native was named 2021 National Mother of the Year.

She is also a Director of BancFirst Corporation, a role  she was appointed to on July 9, 2021. 

Jones was one of four other candidates considered for the position. She will become the first female and the first president of color of OCCC. 

Her first day as OCCC President is set for March 1, 2022.
